On saturday we all decided to meet even Venessa and Courtney apologized
and are cool now. We all met at Dana's around 3 'o' clock to talk, because our wonderful year wasn't as wonderful as we'd
planned.
"Ok, I decided to call this meeting because we've started this year off knida bad, so, we need to bring
it back and make a change..." I said with an idea in mind for myself
"You're right we all need to start our year off andget back to our platinum stauts as usual all we have
are this year and next year left so let's make them the best" Anjel said
"Yeah I need a change to go with my new found glory" Courtney said "So, let's all make a change starting
Monday."
We all agreed and changed the subject though I know everyone was really thinking about their change.
"Y'all heard 'bout the fall dance on friday, right..." I said
"Yeah..." they said
"Well I think we all should bring our new men to the dance, you know to bring us back to our status, and
I just wanna meet them anyway"
"Okay, if we can go shopping right now.." Dana said
Hold on, let's rewind back to Dana for a minute remeber her run in with her ex Mike well they met on Friday,
so, they got back together after talking over their problems she's gonna give him one more chance. Love is a powerful thing
ain't it.
We went shopping taking my car 'cause the trunk was bigger we were going to the mall to find our dresses
for the dance. I was hoping to run into Marcus today.
After shopping we all went bback to Dana's for our annual sleepover since we didn't have it Friday. We tried
out new hairstyles for the dance and finished homework. Then we ate popcorn and watch movies until we fell asleep at 2:30
in the morning.
On Sunday I called Marcus and to ask him if he wanted to take me to the dance
"Hello?" he answered in his deep, sexy voice
"Wat up baby..."I said in a sexy voice
"Hey Le le. wat up baby..."
"Not much but if you come get me we'll see..."
"Oh, ok, what you wanna do today." he said and I could tell he was probably smiling through the phone
"Let's go shopping" I told him
"Why? I hate shopping..."
"That's the beauty of it you'll be with me helping me pick you out something to wear on Friday..."
"what's Friday?"
"You're taking me to my school dance..." I said teaseing him
"Oh really.."
"Yup."
"Okay I'll be there in 20 minutes, baby"
"Aiight."
He pulled up in exactly 20 minutes it was around 12 so we had till 6 when the mall closed. I opened the
door to him with his white tee half on with some jeans. some Jordans, and a white and black promodel on. He was grinning
ear to ear and his jewelry looked like it was just cleaned 'cause it was really shining.
"Wat up Le le"
"The sky.." I said while I gave him a kiss and a hug. Then we walkd to the car and got in
"You lookin' good gurl as usual" he said looking at me lustfully.
I had on some jeans and a white tee tucked in the front wit my name belt on.
He seemed to be smiling to much and his car smelled of weed so I knew he was high.
"Marcus I know you're high, ain't you" i asked him hoping he wasn't but knew it was true.
"Not really baby I just took a few hits, I'm cool though."
"Naw, I think I should drive, switch me seats."
"Naw girl I'm cool.."
"look i ain't goin' nowhere unless you let me drive, Marcus"
"aiight, aiight We'll switch."
I got up and sat on his lap
"You know I like that" he said then he kissed me and moved over.
We pulled off and got to the mall in 30 minutes, he slept most of the way. When we got in the
mall we got something to eat then went to City Blue and while I was in the bathrrom he disappeared and snuck off
and bought me a necklace with my name on it.
"Oh it's beautiful..." I said as he put it on my neck
"No, you're beautiful," he said and kissed me on the cheek.
We finished shopping and his buzz had worn off by now, it was 4:45 and I had to be home at 8:00 so he said
he was taking me to chill with some of his friends. We weren't to far from his house so it didn't
take to long.
"Wat up man..." he said to some light skin boy around his age but alittle shorter.
"Nothing, pimpin'" He said with platinum on his teeth "who's this fine ass gurl" he said while looking
me up and down, I felt kinda funny around him.
"Naw man this is my gurl, Annilee, so, back off " Marcus said while grabbing me around my waist and holding
me close.
"Aiight man let's go see where everybody else is at, oh, by the way I'm Wash..." he said and walked towards
this brown apartment building.
"I live in 3B baby right there" Marcus said pointing to a window as we followed wash up the stairs
into a hall lined with 10 mailboxes and a bulletin board.
We went to an apartment on the second floor where music was booming through the door. Wash banged hard on
the door and some man with a du-rag on his head answered
"What up Wash?" He said and gave him dap
"Nothing much"
"Wat up young" he said to Marcus and gave him dap too
"who's she? He asked giving me the same look Wash did
"This my girl Annilee, this is D" Marcus said
"Aiight come on in" he said and walked throught the door as we all followed him in to a room with two couches,
a table, a TV with the football on and beer bottles and Black n Mild papers were everywhere and there were 6 other people
there. I held on to Marcus tighter and he went along with it.
"Hey! look what the cat dragged in" D said as we entered the room
Wash and Marcus gave almost everyone in the room dap. There were 3 other girls in the room, all looking
at me in a hater kind of way.
"Wat up y'all" Marcus said to everybody " This my girl Le le"
"Wat up" everybody else said as we sat down on a couch.
Everybody just fell into a conversation about footbal and music. They were drinking beer, but Marcus
didn't wanna drink in front of me. I liked him even more for that. I guess he felt how tense I was so he got up and took my
hand and led me to the back. Followed by a bunch of snickering and catcalls.
"What's wrong Le le" he said looking me in the eyes and holding me close
"I'm just a little uncomfortable that's all, nothing much.."
"We can leave if you want, babe?"
"What time is it?" I asked
"About seven..." he said looking at his cell phone
"We can stay If you want to I wanted to meet your friends anyway, But I gott be home at eight"
"Aiight, we'll leave, I can see these fools any time" he said and pulled me close into a kiss that seemed
like it should've lasted forever.We walked into the front room and Marcus said we were leaving but he'd see them later.We
walked to the door to the car. I held his hand tight when we got out fron t some girl was leaning on his car
"Damn!" He said and let my hand go and walked over to the girl with me walking slowly behind him. "Why do
you keep showing up here"
"Because you are my man don't you understand" she said reaching for him but he stepped back
"I ain't yo man I got a girl" he said pulling me to his side
"Oh, so, she's the ho.." she said and jumped at me but I swong and hit her dead on the cheek [I've always
had quick reflexes].
"Bitch you better watch yo'self." I said
"Whateva ho" she said walking away holding her face
We got in the car and Marcus was so hype about me hitting that girl. He was making me laugh the way
he was jumping up and down in his seat.
"Damn, that bitch ain't know what hit her" he said smiling and laughing
"Baby it ain't that serious, so calm down" I said trying not to augh at him
" Naw, I'm hype now I'm gotta do something" he said and pulled the car into my drive way and got out and
opened my door.
He walked me to the door and when I began to open the door He grabbed me and turned me round and gave me
a long kiss, and held me tight until my cell went off scaring us both. when I answered it was Common, she said she had a surprise
for every one at school on Monday and to be prepared for change.
I gave Marcus another shorter kiss and he said he'd call me tonight after he got home. and would pick
me up at 8 on Friday for the dance.
On Monday, we all met up in the parking lot looking for Common because we wanted to see this surprise she
had for us. We saw Jimmie's car pull up and some girl with short black hair get out. The girl had on a cute outfit, but we
all were about to be pissed as Jimmie kissed the girl. Venessa walked over there and started on jimmie before she noticed
who the girl was
"Who is this Jimmie!, ain't you 'posd to be with my girl, it's on now you going down..." Venessa yelled
as she began to take her jewelry off
"Wait V. it's me Courtney " the girl said, it was Courtney she had changed her hair
"Oh my god girl what dd you do. i love it it looks good on you" I said getting over the shock
"Yeah you look mature" Leneil said
"Aw, you took my idea.." Dana said and gave Common a hug
"I'm sorry girl i didn't recognize you, sorry Jimmie..." Venessa said embarrassed
"It's cool i didn't recognize her this morning either"Jimmie said
"I love it girl" Anjel said enthusastic
The day went great as almost everyone in school complimented Common on her hair and upcoming addition. Only
Dawn, Kiki, and Michelle just have to put her down. It happened at lunch Dawn and her groupies were sitting at the jock table
Jimmie was over their for a minute but came and sat with us after ten minutes. after this Lex came over leaving Dawn looking
stupid then a few more came over so Dawn decided it was time to give everyone a reality check.
"Yo ho, I see your back to the world of books instead of pampers" she said ginning eviliy
"Look I'm pregnant and I don't care what you have to say. Don't hate because we're getting attention
and you're not so keep your temper tantrums to yourself" Common said standing and speaking calmly. When she sat down jimmie
put his arms around her and everyone just stared at Dawn and her groupies.
Dawn snapped and her and her groupies walked out of the lunchroom. The rest of the day went smoothly. and
so did the rest of the week on Friday i was nervous all through school, because I was worried marcus had forgottn or would
be high when he came, so, when i got home I called him, he didn't answered so i just started getting ready. At 7:30 I
called again and no one answered so I just decided to wait. At eight on the dot he rung my doorbell and my mom answered.Then
she called upstairs
"Marcus' here!!!"
"Ok," I said and put my shoes on and checked my hair and makeup.
As I came down the stairs my mom and dad had cameras and Marcus was standing at the bottom of the
stairs with a dozen roses. When he saw me he smiled and I smiled back as my parents flashed thousands of pictures of us until
we drove off.
"You look beautiful " he said as I reached the bottom of the stairs he handed me the roses, and kissed me
on the cheek.
"you look beautiful honey" my mom said as my dad nodded and said
"You have her back by midnight!!"
